King of the Hill creators reunite for new animated series

Bad Crimes is described as a “dark comedy procedural."

King of the Hill creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels are to reunite for a new adult animated series on Netflix

The streaming giant has ordered a full ten-episode season of Bad Crimes from under the duo’s production company Bandera Entertainment.

The show will follow two FBI agents Kara (Nicole Byer) and Jennie (Orange is the New Black’s Lauren Lapkus) “as they travel across the country to solve grisly crimes while juggling their friendship, career ambitions, and as many men as possible.”

Bad Crimes was created by Nicole Silverbeg with Erica Hayes and Bandera Entertainment’s Dustin Davis also set to executive produce.

"Making Bad Crimes with Greg and Mike and Bandera, who are the whole reason I dreamed of one day getting to write TV, has been such an incredible experience," said Silverberg.

"We all feel that working with Netflix - which not only permits, but encourages my grossest, most violent comedy fantasies - is a dream come true."

Bad Crimes is not the only show that’s in development at Bandera Entertainment.

A revival of Judge and Daniels’ hit animated sitcom King of the Hill, a children’s series from Sacha Baron Cohen and a feminist comedy from Alison Bechdel and Portlandia's Carrie Brownstein are also in the works.

No details are currently available regarding the new King of the Hill which originally ran for 13 seasons between 1997 and 2009. It followed propane salesman Hank (Judge), his wife Peggy (Kathy Najimy) and teenage son Bobby (Pamela Adlon) in the fictional town of Arlen, Texas.
