Our Netflix review
Netflix is a streaming service which was founded in 1997. Its popularity in the United States, where it was started and is based, grew considerably over the years, and now it is one of the most popular choices for on demand TV shows and movies. Customers pay a fixed monthly fee, and this allows unlimited streaming of films and TV series, with the option to watch online via a web-connected device, and stream direct to your TV.
With Netflix, you are offered one month's free trial, with no commitment to continue and absolutely no charge to cancel. Part of its popularity lies within the rolling agreement between company and customer, allowing the freedom to continue and discontinue the service at any time of day, whenever you choose. There is a wide range of titles available, and you have the essential functions of pause, rewind and record. There are no adverts, and you can watch the same show or film as many times as you like.
Netflix recommends a minimum broadband speed of 0.5Mbps, although this, in truth, is very slow and you would get more enjoyment out of the service with a fibre-optic connection delivering at least 15-20Mbps. Otherwise you will be faced with some considerable wait times as the content buffers.
