Here's what you can look forward to on Sky Sports in June.
Football on Sky Sports
June is one of the most horrible months of the year for football fans. With all the leagues around Europe now finished, there’s no action until August.
That doesn’t mean the footballing world stops, though. There’s still plenty going on in regards to moves, so be sure to stay updated on the Sky Sports website for all the transfer rumours and happenings.
Formula 1 on Sky Sports
The first triple-header of the year brought excitement and action as we expected; however, it is still the McLaren’s who have a firm hold of things. Oscar Piastri continues to lead the way but his teammate and title rival Lando Norris has been able to make some ground on him.
Canadian Grand Prix | 13th - 15th June | Sky Sports F1 HD
Breaking up the European stretch of the season as usual is the Canadian Grand Prix, which is prone to a spicy affair. Lewis Hamilton has a record-tying seven wins here; could we see him claim his eighth win and first for Ferrari?
Austrian Grand Prix | 27th - 29th June | Sky Sports F1 HD
Red Bull’s home race is always one they want to claim, but they will especially want revenge after the events of last year’s race.
Cricket on Sky Sports
IPL | Tuesday 3rd at 14:50 | Sky Sports Mix & Sky Sports+
The conclusion to the IPL season comes slightly later than planned but is sure to provide excitement nonetheless.
The final will crown a brand new IPL champion as neither Royal Challengers Bengaluru or Punjab Kings have ever claimed the title in their history. History will be made this month.
England series vs West Indies | Until Tuesday 10th | Sky Sports Main Event & Cricket
Both the men’s and women’s teams are busy with their respective series against the West Indies this month.
The women are already up one in their three-match ODI series, while the men have claimed victory in their three-match ODI series having won the first two. They will move onto the three-match IT20 series following the third ODI.
Here are the dates for each game:
Men’s
- ODI 3 – Tuesday 3rd at 1pm
- IT20 1 – Friday 6th at 6:30pm
- IT20 2 – Sunday 8th at 2:30pm
- IT20 3 – Tuesday 10th at 6:30pm
Women’s
- ODI 2 – Wednesday 4th at 1pm
- ODI 3 – Saturday 7th at 11pm
England Men’s vs India Men’s Test series | Friday 20th - Tuesday 24th | Sky Sports Main Event & Cricket
England will be challenging themselves against the ICC World Test Championship runners-up India to end the month, taking them on in a Test match.
Coverage for each day of the Test will begin at 10:15am, except for the first day, which will start at 10am.
Golf on Sky Sports
June will be a busy month on both the PGA and LPGA Tours, with both set to bring exciting action from their third major of the year, plus a signature event meaning another opportunity for a big points and cash haul.
US Open | Thursday 12th - Sunday 15th | Sky Sports Main Event & Golf
Major number three will emanate from Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania, a record 10th time hosting the event at the course. The reigning champion is current world number four Bryson DeChambeau, who is in good form this year and could add to his major championship tally.
KPMG Women’s PGA Championship | Thursday 19th - Sunday 22nd | Sky Sports Main Event, Golf & Sky Sports+
Fields Ranch East is ready to host the third major of the LPGA Tour, with world number one Nelly Korda eyeing her first tour championship victory of the season.
Travelers Championship | Thursday 19th - Sunday 22nd | Sky Sports Main Event & Golf
Just a week after the US Open, the PGA Tour will host its next signature event of the season, the Travelers Championship, which will be contested as ever at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut.
Tennis on Sky Sports
ATP 500 Halle & WTA 500 Berlin | Monday 16th - Sunday 22nd | Sky Sports Main Event, Tennis & Sky Sports+
ATP 500 Halle, also known as the Halle Open, will be the first bigger event during the grass court season on the leadup to Wimbledon. It won’t be long until the most grandiose Grand Slam, so expect some of the top players to make an appearance.
The same goes for WTA 500 Berlin, or the German Open, the women’s event that will go on at the same time.
WTA 500 Bad Homburg | Sunday 22nd - Saturday 28th | Sky Sports Main Event, Tennis & Sky Sports+
The WTA Tour will go right into another elevated tournament, staying in Germany but moving over Bad Homburg for the Bad Homburg Open.
Live action on Sky Sports
World Cup of Darts | Thursday 12th - Sunday 15th | Sky Sports Main Event & Action
England and their team of Lukes (Humphries and Littler) will be aiming to retain their title as the latest edition of the PDC World Cup of Darts takes place in Frankfurt, Germany.
Forty teams will compete for the ultimate bragging rights, with constant darts action going on over the four days.
Betfred Super League | Sky Sports+
The Super League rolls on, with more exciting matches set to take place during the month. Will Hull KR be able to keep up their sensational form?
