Heat or Miss! Premier League's hottest (and coldest) summer transfers

Don’t be mad if your favourite isn’t there, just probably means it was a miss…

The Premier League has seen a great number of transfers this summer, with some big moves coming in and out of the league (thanks, Saudi League).

Many teams have picked up pieces that they need to be able to hopefully take themselves to the next level, such as Arsenal and Aston Villa.

Others have purchased for what really feels like purchase sake - looking at you, Todd Boehly.

Here, we’ve chosen a couple of the standout moves for us and ranked them by how hot they are. The hotter they are, the better the move we think it is.

Check out our picks below, it’s sure to enrage some fans…

A couple of caveats and honourable mentions should be noted.

Obviously, putting Jurrien Timber here may seem a bit odd since he got injured during the first game of the season and is now out for months.

But anyone familiar with his game knows he is a great player, and his performance in the Community Shield showed his usefulness in the Arsenal defence.

Speaking of Arsenal, we do realise there is a heavy focus on their incomings, but that’s just because we feel they have done the best business this summer.

Well, them and Aston Villa. Youri Tielemans is on there, but as we have already seen so far this year, Moussa Diaby could very well be at the top with the Belgian.

There is also no hate towards Manchester United despite the two low-ranking moves. They just don’t seem like the best moves for what the team needs.

In fact, there is no hate or bias towards anyone or any team here. Actually, that’s not entirely true, as one player you don’t see on there is James Ward-Prowse.

That’s because he is such a great player and addition to West Ham that he is off the chart. He’s the best English midfielder the nation has right now and that statement is going nowhere.

This opinion was brought to you by a humble Southampton fan who just wants to see his boy thrive.
