The Rugby Super League Grand Final will be crowning a new champion this weekend, with first place taking on second place.

Find out how you can watch the Super League Grand Final on TV, with the details on which channel it will exclusively be shown, plus info about the final itself and past winners.

Super League Grand Final on TV

Sky Sports is the home of the Rugby Super League, having been the primary broadcaster since the league's inception in 1996.

They have also given Channel 4 the right to broadcast 10 games this season - eight regular season fixtures and two playoff games.

The Grand Final itself will be held exclusively on Sky Sports, with coverage starting at 5pm on Sky Sports Arena and Sky Sports Main Event.

Super League Grand Final 2023

27 games and two rounds of playoffs have brought us to the Super League Grand Final. 

First-place Wigan Warriors will be playing second-place Catalans Dragons. It’s the tale of experienced versus inexperienced, Wigan having been in the final 11 times with five wins, the Dragons only making one final appearance as a runner-up.

This will be the first time that the two will be facing off against one another in the Grand Final.

Date & venue

The Grand Final will take place at Old Trafford, home of Manchester United FC, on Saturday 14th October.

The Theatre of Dreams has been the location of the Grand Final every year, with the exception of 2020, when it was played at the KCOM Stadium in Hull due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Route to final

The Warriors and the Catalans had identical records in the regular season, with 20 wins and seven losses. Wigan came out on top due to a higher points difference.

Wigan played Hull KR in the Semi-finals, dismantling their opponents 42-12. 

The Catalans had a much harder matchup, coming up against the reigning four-peat champions St Helens, who were looking for a historic five titles in a row.

After a hard-fought battle, the Dragons came away with a 12-6 win.

Super League Grand Final past 5 winners

The last five Super League Grand Finals have been dominated by St Helens. They have won the last four finals, beating four different opponents in that time including both of this year’s finalists.

And even more coincidental, the last winner that wasn’t St Helens was the Wigan Warriors.
