Lorne Michaels has proved to be the king of creating weekly live sketch comedy, successfully bringing over his beloved Saturday Night Live from the US to the UK.

Season two of SNL UK has begun and is airing its third episode of the 12 to come.

For this upcoming week, Amelia Dimoldenberg swaps chicken shop chats for live comedy as she hosts episode three of SNL UK’s second season, with singer-songwriter Rachel Chinouriri providing the music. The pair join the cast on Saturday 26 September at 10pm on Sky One and NOW.

Best known for creating and hosting Chicken Shop Date, Dimoldenberg has made an art of awkward pauses, deadpan questions and flirting that leaves even Hollywood stars struggling for a response.

Her interviews with guests including Andrew Garfield and Billie Eilish helped turn the series into an internet favourite, and she recently announced that it would be coming to an end after 12 years. 

A stint hosting SNL UK feels like a fitting opportunity to put that comic timing to a different test. 

Joining her is English indie-pop artist Rachel Chinouriri, whose debut album, What a Devastating Turn of Events, arrived in 2024. 

Combining catchy melodies with deeply personal songwriting, her music explores heartbreak, identity and growing up, drawing on the sounds of early-2000s indie.
