With Sky Glass, you can merge your Sky services with your TV, with no extra cables or boxes in your living room. This 4K HDR TV allows you to watch all your Sky subscription and streaming content with just the push of a button and a small addition to your monthly Sky bill.

If you’re looking for a new TV and are a new or existing Sky customer, Sky Glass offers an incredible value proposition.

What is Sky Glass?

Sky Glass is a smart TV and a streaming service, all rolled into one sleek package. It’s your regular Sky package - including extras like Sky Cinema and Sky Sports - and other streamers like Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney Plus, all available together on a single high-spec screen, with no need for a dish or a set-top box.

Sky Glass Specs

Sky Glass offers a 4K QLED screen with HDR, capable of delivering Ultra HD image quality with vivid colours and deep blacks. Paired with a built-in Dolby Atmos speaker system for rich, crystal-clear sound, Sky Glass packs enough punch to provide an immersive viewing experience.

You also have the option of connecting an external sound system through the eARC-enabled HDMI port, as well as games consoles and other devices. Sky Glass is even able to launch your devices via the home page or through voice activation, meaning you don’t have to remember which ports you have them plugged into.

Sky Glass is currently available in three sizes - 43-inch, 55-inch and 65-inch - and five colours, meaning it should fit nicely into just about any living room setup.

Sky Glass Features

With Sky Glass you’ll be able to enjoy all of the standard Sky features, such as pausing and rewinding live TV and recording programmes to watch later. In addition, you can use the Playlist feature to ‘bookmark’ your favourite movies and TV shows from all of your streaming services, meaning they’ll all be available in one place when you want to watch them.

This could be a pretty useful feature, given the amount of content available through Sky Glass: alongside your regular Sky content, you’ll be able to access all of your favourite streaming services, such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney Plus and NOW, at the touch of a button, all in one place.

You can queue up shows from across the different services - go straight from an episode of Stranger Things on Netflix, to the latest House of the Dragon on Sky Atlantic, for example - and you’ll even get personalised recommendations. These recommendations are unique to each user and vary depending on the time and day, meaning you could be suggested a new crime drama on Thursday evening, or a new kids’ cartoon on Saturday morning.

Sky Glass also offers some high-tech modern features, like a voice control system - simply say “Hello Sky” to wake it up, and give it a command - and the rather unique ability to switch on and display posters for recommended movies and TV shows, whenever you walk in the room (a feature that you can turn off, if you’re not interested).

Sky Stream vs Sky Glass

Sky Glass is an impressive piece of hardware, but what if you’re happy with your current TV and sound setup, and aren’t looking to make a change? Sky Stream includes all of the same great content as Sky Glass - without the TV.

That means you’ll get access to your favourite Sky Channels and streaming services, all in one place. And, as with Sky Glass, Stream runs exclusively on a broadband connection, meaning there’s no need to install a satellite dish.

Sky Cinema on Sky Glass

As with any other base Sky package, you can choose to add Sky Cinema to your Sky Glass subscription for an additional monthly cost.

Sky Cinema has more of the latest movies - from small indie films and cult classics to the biggest blockbusters - than anywhere else. That means access to over 1,000 movies, on demand, many of which are available in UHD - meaning you’ll be able to take full advantage of Sky Glass’s 4K HDR QLED display and Dolby Atmos sound.

Sky Sports on Sky Glass

You can also add Sky Sports to your Sky Glass subscription, giving you access to 9 dedicated sports channels and round-the-clock coverage - all in stunning Ultra HD.

Sky Sports has more exclusive live sport than anywhere else, across a wide range of favourites including cricket, golf, F1 and boxing. You’ll also get over 500 live football games, including the biggest Premier League games every weekend.

Sky Glass and Sky Multiscreen

Sky Glass doesn’t have to be confined to your living room, either. With Sky Multiroom, you can watch any of your Sky channels and streaming services on any other TV, throughout your home.

Simply plug in a Sky Stream Puck and you’ll get access to your full subscription. Although it’s worth noting that you’ll need to pay an additional monthly fee to use the Multiroom service, as well as a one-off payment for each Puck you need.

How can I get Sky Glass?

Sky Glass is available to both new and existing Sky customers, allowing you to jump in at any time. It’s perfect if you’re looking to get a new 4K TV but don’t want to pay upfront for an expensive model. If you’re an existing Sky customer, you can add Sky Glass to your monthly subscription.

How much is Sky Glass?

Sky has ensured that the price point of Sky Glass is accessible for everyone. While the as-is prices are very competitive on their own, Sky also allows customers to get the TV as part of their monthly deal, just like you would with your phone. The three different sizes are priced as follows:

43-inch: £699 or £14 a month

55-inch: £949 or £19 a month

65-inch: £1199 or £24 a month

Additional subscriptions are charged separately to the Sky Glass credit agreement.

This price is for the Sky Glass TV only, and will be added to your Sky deal along with your subscription. You’ll also be able to upgrade when a newer model comes out, again just like you do with your phone subscription.

Sky Glass contract length

You can get Sky Glass on a contract length of 24 or 48 months, meaning you can choose the repayment plan that works for you and your circumstances. If you don’t want to be locked in for the full 48 months, and can afford higher monthly payments, the shorter contract length might be worth a look.
